Test Tracks was created while teaching 8th graders at South Bronx High
School. My own love of hip-hop, and the ease with which my students
were able to memorize and recite even the most complex and extensive
rap lyrics, inspired media designed to entertain, engage and ultimately
educate.
Combining this generation’s enthusiasm for hip-hop, with the proven
effectiveness of rhyme, rhythm and repetition as memorization tools,
we use hip-hop songs to make studying effective and fun. These engaging
songs and videos use mnemonic devices, simple definitions, vivid imagery,
and humor to raise test scores, excited students, and ultimately improve
academic interest and performance. Enjoy and spread the word.
